The library is closely coordinated with the curriculum. Acquisition of materials and development of services are adapted to the changing and expanding needs of the teaching programs of the university.
-
UNVA has a book loan agreement with Arlington and Fairfax Counties , and a book acquisition agreement with the Library of Congress. Online searching conducted for individual students enhances student research. The university subscribes to online databases to provide instant and remote access to students. The librarian is responsible for assisting students with access to and utilization of these databases, and accessing holdings in UNVA libraries worldwide and developing loan agreements with other organizations.
-
The librarian offers students general reference assistance and provides assistance with complex research questions. Other special equipment includes compact disk players, microfiche readers, microfilm readers/printers, photocopiers, typewriters, Internet connections, and audio-visual equipment.
